DESCRIPTION:In the Jain lunar calendar\, Chaumasi Chaudas holds great spiritual importance and occurs three times a year. The term Chaumasi signifies a four-month period\, while Chaudas refers to the 14th day of the lunar fortnight—hence\, this sacred day arrives once every four months. \nOn this occasion\, Jains observe the day with devotion and discipline by refraining from consuming root and green vegetables\, engaging in penance such as fasting or partial fasting\, performing Dev Vandan and meditation\, and participating in Chaumasi Pratikraman.
